Activities – Socialism Study Center Nepal

Socialism Study Center Nepal Dhankuta organized a large interactive program on socialism debate and struggle has been completed in Kathmandu. Former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Vice President and former Minister of CPN 9 Maoist Center Pampha Bhushal, Deputy Secretary General of CPN 9 Unified Socialists Jagannath Khatiwada, Dean of Nepal Open University and philosopher Dr. Khagendra Prasain, youth left leader Ashesh Ghimire and president of Socialism Study Center Arjun Rai presented their views on the challenges, possibilities, success and our responsibilities of the socialist movement in Nepal and around the world. साथै समाजवाद सम्बन्धी सहभागीहरुको तर्फबाट उठेका विविध प्रश्नहरुको उत्तर पुर्व प्रधानमन्त्री माधव नेपालले दिनु भएको थियो । अन्तर्क्रीयात्मक हिसाबले सम्पन्न भएको उक्त कार्यक्रम अत्यन्तै उपलब्धी मुलक रह्यो । सोही कार्यक्रममा अध्ययन केन्द्रको दोश्रो प्रकाशन ू समाजवाद बहस र संघर्षू नामक पुस्तकको सार्वजनिक पनि गरिएको थियो ।

नेपालको वाम तथा समाजवादी आन्दोलनको ईतिहास टुटफुट र बिभाजनपुर्ण भए पनि सैद्वान्तिक र शैलीगत हिसाबले आजको अवस्था जत्तिको तन्नम, आवाराकरण र विकृत कहिल्यै भएको थिएन । पार्टी र आन्दोलनलाई निजी लाभ वा प्राप्तीसँग बितेको पाँच बर्षमा सर्वाधिक जोडिएको छ । सामुहिकता र समाजवाद ओठे भक्तीमा रुपान्तरित हुन पुगेको छ ।

तथापी हामी हाम्रो आदर्शप्रति अविचलित रुपमा प्रयत्नरत रहनु प्रथम कर्तव्य हुन जान्छ । साना साना तर महत्त्वपुर्ण कामको निरन्तरता हाम्रो शैली बन्न पर्छ भन्ने लाग्छ । तसर्थ यसैको निरन्तरता स्वरुपनै भनौं आज औपचारिकरुपमा “समाजवाद किन र कसरी” नामको पुस्तकको सार्बजनिक गरिएको छ । लोकार्पण पुर्वप्रधानमन्त्री माधव नेपाल, पुर्वराजदुत प्रमेश हमाल, सामाजिक विभेद बिरुद्वको आन्दोलनको अगुवा गणेश बि.के. र मुसलमान समुदायबाट प्रतिनिधित्व गर्नु हुने सांसद कलिला खानले संयुक्त रुपमा गर्नु भएको छ ।

Organized by Center for Socialism Studies, Nepal, Dhankuta, in the presence of former Nepali Ambassador to China Tank Karki and economic and political analyst Hari Roka, an interactive program on “Today’s national political, economic, political, geopolitical situation and future direction and our responsibility” was held in Dhankuta.

Even though the history of the left and socialist movement in Nepal is fragmented and divisive, it has never been as tense, disorienting and distorted as it is today in ideological and stylistic terms. The party and the movement have been most associated with personal gain or gain in the past five years. Collectivism and socialism have been transformed into lip service.
